Scott Family Ancestors

In our effort to prove/disprove a connection to the Thomas Scott and Anne Cooksey who were married in Bedford Co, VA, we have come across various information on their and allied families (i.e. Cooksey, Scott, James, Tennison, Lemaster, Dent etc), many of whom go back to Charles Co, Maryland in the late 1600's and early 1700's. Some of those links are included below.

Charles County Maryland Probate Records
Linda Grubbs found this website that, in items #141 and 148, lists a James Williams who was deceased by Sep 1723 with John Lemaster and John Scott Sr. named as kin. Comparing info from Faye Morgan's and Michael Meyers' websites (see below), it may be that James Williams, John Scott and John Lemaster were kinsmen by nature of their marriages to three daughters of Justinian and Catherine Tennison: Elizabeth, Catherine and Christian.
