Fourth child and oldest son John Scott was born c 1798 and died at the age of 17 in Clermont Co, Ohio. He is buried in Hilman Ridge Churchyard, in what is present day Brown Co. He had no known issue. The following is from Tombstone Inscriptions of Brown County, Ohio, by Colletta and Puckett, p150:

John Scott, son of Thomas and Anna, died 4/15/1815, aged 17 years, Hilman Ridge Churchyard, Pleasant Twp
