Pearsall Genealogy Books
History and Genealogy of The Pearsall Family in England and America, by Clarence E. Pearsall and Hettie May Pearsall, 1928, is a three volume set that recounts the family history in America, England, and back to Norway and Rognvald, Earl of Mere. Volume 1 pp 1-556; vol 2 pp 557-1178; vol 3 pp 1179-1806 includes Contents and Index.
While the all important immigrant generation has been questioned for accuracy (see the article below), this is still an impressive and valuable resource for our family.
Where to buy it
The set has been reprinted and is available for sale from Doris Pearsall for $215, shipping and handling included. This is not a photocopy, but a finely printed edition on acid-free paper that will last for many years. The set is hardbound with gold embossing and includes all the illustrations. As of March 2000, there were approximately 25 sets available:

[Note: We have purchased a set from Doris and are very pleased with it. It seems to compare very favourably with a 1928 set viewed at the Sutro Library in SF and actually contains some improvements over the original. It is also of markedly higher quality than the photcopied reproductions which some booksellers produce and sell for a higher price. -TB] |
