1734 or 44 Born in Maryland

1767, 5 Mar- served in Joseph Chaplines Co, Ref Md Colonial muster, folio 194.
This could be another Timothy or a Downey. (There is a Joseph Chapline in Frederick Co, MD living near the James/Robert DOWNEY family)

1767, 4 Oct, Son George born in Maryland.

1772---son William born in Maryland, m. Malinda Barton in Mason Co, KY 1797.

1776, 16Apr--Timothy Downing, pvt in the Skipton Dist Militia under Capt Thomas Waring, ref:MD Hist Soc Mss MS.1814.

1777, conversation with Mr Moore took place in Md. about Rev War, with son George present. Timothy a widower at the time. A Tuchahoe Co. is referenced which never existed, there is a Tuchahoe Creek on the Eastern Shore of Md. A Tuckahoe church in NW VA.

c178?, married Sarah Chenoweth, probably in Allegheny Co, MD. The Chenoweth family had land in that county. Sarah was born 12 May 1747, the daughter of Thomas Chenoweth. (Tyler Qtrly-Vol 3,pp190,191). The Chenoweths originally lived near Joppa, MD. Thomas father John Chinoweth's will was probated in Frederick Co, VA., 6 May 1746.

1783, Tax Assessment, Cumberland (evidently no land)

1786, Was in Ky, probably the Timothy Downing who signed petition at Washington, KY.

1789, 21 Jun, Son John born in Kentucky. (Died 28 Dec l859, Kelso, KA). m. Mary Boiler, 17 Jun 1813, Ross Co,OH

1790, 20 &26 Jan, Purchase of land in Mason Co, KY, with Arthur Chenoweth. Bk A, pp204, 206. Land was on Lee's Creek. Other Timothy lived on Lawrence Creek.

1790---dau Susan born in KY, m. James Morrison, 1810 in Ross Co, OH.

1790, Appears on Mason Co, Ky census as Timothy Sr.

1792-1796-Two Timothy Downings appear on Mason Co,Ky tax records.

1792,30 0ct, Son George marries Elizabeth Bennett in Maryland, their son William H. born 18 Ju1 1793 in MD. Sons Samuel b.4 Dec 1794 & Thomas b. 12 Apr 1796 supposedly born in MD also.

1793--Allegany Co, MD Tax List shows Geo. Downing in the 4th Dist., Cumberland Hundred.

1796, Son George was supposed to be in Pike Co, Ohio, assume Timothy was also. Son John lived in Pike Co. as an adult and married Mary (Polly) Boiler in Ross Co, OH. 17 Jun 1813.

1798, 15 Apr, John and Abraham Chenoweth of Ross co, North West Terrtory, sell land in Mason Co, Ky located by land of Arthur Chenoweth and Timothy Downing. (Bk B,p477)

1799, 27 Feb--Sarah Downing (dau of Timothy?) m. Mescheck Downing in Ross Co,OH. Sarah dies 8 Sep 1834.

1800, 2 Apr, John Chenoweth and Mary his wife, and Abraham Chenoweth and Rebecca his wife of Ross Co in territory northwest of Ohio River and John Machir of Mason Co, sale of land in Mason Co, by the lands of Timothy Downing.(Bk C1,p35).

1800--William Downing and Malinda Barton in Pike Co,OH. In 1840 to Mercer Co,OH.

1802, 5 July, George's first wife Elizabeth Bennett dies, Pike Co,OH. George marries Winifred Downing 30 May 1805 in Pike Co.

???? No record of Timothy's death or burial, assume Pike Co, OH.

Much of the above is conjecture unless a reference has been cited.
