Thomas lived in Virginia and South Carolina before moving to Mississippi in 1808. My branch of the family moved to Texas in the 1890's."

Sue Hodnett's Genealogy page lists descendants of Francis Downing and Susannah Wells, dau of Richard Wells, and nine children. Francis Downing b 1736 in Yorkshire, England, immigrated around 1752 and settled in Harford county, MD. About 1790 they migrated to Fayette County, KY and some descendants later to Missouri.
