“Missing Persons”

    Ancestors:

    • David & Joseph's parents, home state and county; may be either
PA or VA, based on census reports.

David's missing children, all m. Brown Co, OH and left between 1850 - 60:

    • Cary D. Kendall (1819-?) and Narcissa Cox, children William L. b. 1849, Clem.
    • Rebecca Kendall (1825-?) and Henry Brady, children William C., Thomas W., Docia, Luella, Scott, Flora born in OH, IA and IL
    • William C. Kendall (1833-?) and Nancy Pickett m. 1854 Brown Co, OH.

Miscellaneous

  • History of Johnson Co 1888, by Brant, and Historical Sketch of Johnson Co, by Banta, had the following in chapter on Nineveh Twp:

"In 1827, of those who came, John Kindle, Aaron Burget and...are all believed to have been from Ohio..."

  • In 1850, 1860 & 1870 census in Nineveh Twp, Joseph's family and Aaron Burget's family lived adjacent and one of his daughters married one of Aaron's sons. Aaron Burget was reportedly born in Shenandoah Co, VA and his family were early settlers in Brown Co, OH.
  • John Kindle may be another brother or other relative.
  • May be connected to Capt. Custis Kendall of Northampton Co, VA, who was one of the original owners in Clermont Co, OH, receiving 4667 acres of Rev. war land bounty there, though may not have lived there. There were at least two Custis Kendalls from Northampton. Anybody have anything on them?
