Fred Kindel's Database SearchIntro
Updated 2/8/2002
Fred Kindel is building a database and, as of June '99, had 24,000+ Kendalls of all spellings and connecting lines, probably many more by now. He began collecting Kendall data in 1983 and has information from:
  • the Library of Congress,
  • the genealogy collections of a number of regional libraries,
  • numerous Kendall researchers

He wants others to add Kendall data to it and offers a free lookup service to other Kendall researchers.

How it works
If there are connections between your data and what's in the data base, Fred will send you:

  • information describing any connections, or possible connections,
  • names/addresses of researchers whose data apparently connects to yours, so you can exchange information with them, or,
  • titles/authors of the published or unpublished materials showing the connection.

He will also add your info to the data base and record you as the source. In the future, when other researchers' info is shown to connect to theirs, I follow up and put them in touch with each other."

What to send
Send Fred your Kendall data in the form of pedigree charts, family group sheets or, preferably, both. Some of the important information he uses to search are:

  • Surnames of Kendall Spouses are an important search tool;
  • Childrens' Names and their Spouses are important tools;
  • Kendall Descendants down to the present time, or almost, are also useful, particularly to make connections with those just beginning their Kendall research, and;
  • Places and Dates of Birth and Death are important.

How to send it
Postal Mail
The optimum is still pedigree charts or family group sheets, or preferably both. You can also send gedcom files on floppy disks. To send your info using regular mail, here is the address:

  • Fred Kindel, 111 Shelley Court, Folsom, CA 95630

Electronic Mail
Fred says, "I am not a techno-computer guy, but I can usually muddle thru and utilize whatever form…others want to send their data: e-mail message, e-mail message w/ attachment, gedcom file w/e-mail or by regular mail on a floppy disk, regular mail with xerox copies, etc."

Online Form
Use our online form which allows you to send information directly to Fred from this site.
